Terms of Service

Last updated:

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before making a booking with CruiseRMD. By completing a booking you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About CruiseRMD

CruiseRMD ('we', 'us', 'our') is an independent river cruise agency specialising in Rhine, Main & Danube voyages. We act as an agent on behalf of cruise line operators and are not ourselves the carrier or accommodation provider. Our registered office is at 1 River Plaza, Suite 400, New York, NY 10004.

2. Booking & Contract

A binding contract is formed when we issue a written booking confirmation to you by email. The lead passenger (the person who makes the booking) must be at least 18 years old and accepts these terms on behalf of all members of the travelling party. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.

3. Pricing & Payment

All prices are quoted in US Dollars unless otherwise stated and are per person based on double occupancy unless specified. A deposit of 20% of the total booking value is required at the time of booking. The balance is due no later than 90 days before departure. For bookings made within 90 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept major credit cards and bank transfer. Prices are subject to change until a deposit has been received and a booking confirmation issued.

4. Cancellation by You

If you wish to cancel your booking, the lead passenger must notify us in writing. Cancellation charges are calculated from the date we receive written notice and are as follows: more than 90 days before departure — loss of deposit only; 89–60 days — 40% of total booking value; 59–30 days — 60%; 29–15 days — 80%; 14 days or fewer — 100%. We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation.

5. Cancellation or Changes by Us

We reserve the right to cancel or materially alter your booking in exceptional circumstances (including but not limited to force majeure events, low passenger numbers, or cruise line schedule changes). In such cases we will offer you an alternative of comparable standard, a credit note, or a full refund of monies paid to us. We are not liable for any indirect losses, including but not limited to flight costs, hotel costs, or other travel arrangements.

6. ABTA & ATOL Protection

CruiseRMD is a member of ABTA (the Association of British Travel Agents) and holds an ATOL licence issued by the Civil Aviation Authority. Packages that include flights are ATOL protected. Your ATOL certificate will be issued with your booking confirmation. ABTA membership means you have the benefit of ABTA's scheme of financial protection and access to ABTA's approved dispute resolution scheme.

7. Travel Insurance

Adequate travel insurance is a condition of booking with CruiseRMD. Your policy must cover, at minimum: cancellation and curtailment, medical expenses and repatriation, personal liability, and loss of baggage and personal effects. You must provide your policy details before departure. CruiseRMD accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or expense that would have been covered by adequate travel insurance.

8. Passports, Visas & Health

It is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party hold valid passports and any required visas for the countries visited during your cruise. We recommend that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your return date. Health requirements and vaccination recommendations vary by destination and are your responsibility to check and comply with.

9. Liability

CruiseRMD acts as an agent for cruise line operators and other suppliers. Our liability to you is limited to the value of your booking. We are not liable for any act or omission of a supplier, nor for any event outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Complaints

If you have a complaint during your cruise, you must report it immediately to the cruise line's onboard guest services team so that it can be resolved at the time. If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, please contact us in writing within 28 days of your return. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to provide a full response within 28 days.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New York.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
