Travel Insurance
Your travel insurance comes directly from the cruise company you book with — purpose-built for your voyage, your itinerary, and the specific risks of life at sea.
Insurance Is Provided by Your Cruise Operator
At CruiseRMD, we do not sell travel insurance directly. Instead, travel insurance is arranged and provided by the cruise company you book with. Each of our partner operators — AmaWaterways, Phoenix Reisen, Riverside Luxury Cruises, Swan Hellenic, Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Silversea, and Four Seasons Yachts — includes or offers a dedicated travel protection plan as part of their booking process. This means your insurance is underwritten by specialists who understand the specific risks and requirements of the voyage you are taking.
What Is Typically Covered
While exact coverage varies by operator and plan, cruise travel insurance provided by our partners typically includes: trip cancellation and interruption protection, emergency medical and evacuation cover, missed port or embarkation cover, baggage loss or delay, and itinerary change protection due to weather or unforeseen events. Your specific policy documents will be provided directly by the cruise line at the time of booking confirmation.
Why Operator-Provided Insurance Matters
Insurance arranged directly through your cruise operator is specifically designed for the voyage you are taking. It accounts for the ship's itinerary, the ports of call, the duration at sea, and the operator's own cancellation and refund policies. Generic travel insurance purchased independently may not cover cruise-specific scenarios such as missed embarkation due to a delayed flight, or a port cancellation caused by adverse weather. Operator-provided cover closes these gaps.
Our Role — Guidance, Not Sales
When we confirm your booking, we will walk you through the insurance options available from your chosen operator and ensure you understand what is included and what is optional. We will never pressure you into a specific plan, but we strongly recommend that every traveller departs with comprehensive cover in place. If you have pre-existing medical conditions or specific coverage requirements, we will flag these to the operator's insurance team on your behalf so the right plan is selected before you travel.
